7/7/2023 0 Comments Pent up emotionsYou cannot allow your frustration or fear or anger whatever the emotion you are feeling be taken out on your family and friends or within your work place, there are many ways to discharge pent-up emotion. This is why it is essential that we find a way to release our emotions that suit us, we are all different and some methods suit others better than the next person. You may feel that you need to hide your emotions and be strong for the rest of your family or maybe you simply have always lived within a family unit that do not show emotion to one another or anyone for that matter, this will only create long-term severe negativity, that grows and becomes the root of maybe a terrible illness. This method of hiding your emotions will also add to your original stress, tension and conflict – just as tensing up against physical pain succeeds in causing greater pain. Getting them to trust you first can be helpful.When we keep all our emotions deep down and pent-up, it is important to emphasise that the cure for the outside world is not to put on a brave face and fight back the tears, this will only make things worse and can have great physical effects along the way. Do this enough times, and you'll find people you can trust. Brush yourself off, try with someone else. You'll have people you thought you could work into confidants, but it turns out you can't. There's some trial and error involved, as well. It takes time to build this kind of trust, but it's very much worth it. Of course, in this case they need to be extremely trustworthy. (Sometimes it's something to do with another of my close friends, which is why it's useful to have more than one. When it does, I usually talk it out with one of those few close friends. I still bury most everything, but some of the bigger stuff comes crawling back sooner or later. I think maybe my calm demeanor helps reassure them that things will be okay? Like, I say "everything is going to be okay", and they know that I'm not naive (because they know me to be a pragmatic realist), and they know that I believe what I'm saying (since I'm not panicking). For some reason or another, I'm a pretty good listener when other people are freaking out.
